A while ago, I wanted to create custom cars for Midtown madness 1. I dug through the little information that was available at different sites, got help for a few people at other forums, etc. I found that you need 3DS Max, which is expensive, to use the Vehicle creation kit. Then I found that you could use Zmodeler to make cars - I tried, with no luck, so I gave up. Then I tried again later on. Now, most of the original sites were down and gone. I dug through a lot of info trying to find out how to do it, and finally got a custom car into midtown!

I made this guide so, if by some chance someone wants to make cars for MM1, hopefully this can help them. It includes the necessary programs to make cars for MM1. I know this game is old, but there may be a chance someone wants to do it.

If I've made any mistakes or forgot something, please post here and let me know!

The guide doesnt teach you how to model in Zmodeler, because I believe there is enough information around to teach you that. I have no clue if anyone still plays this game or is interested in it, but maybe (hopefully) this can help someone.

You can download it here:

Post any comments you have, its appreciated! Enjoy!

Police84 are you the author, because if you are, i have a few questions ;p
edit: I am busy atm with the toolkit, i have found the car that i want to make ( Mercedes CLK-GTR), but i got stuck at the Zmodeler thing, i have loaded the front, back, 1 side and top already in Zmod and got them at the right size.

question : how do i get textures of exact multiples of 2?

I made some MM2 cars in the past, but I've never been able to manage making any for MM1 since the VCK is quite misleading (if you're using ZMod).

Thanks alot, I may soon have a 1990 Volvo 760 ingame.

I will admit my little write up isnt a well polished piece, but hopefully it helps. Pretty much the only reason I wrote it down was so I wouldnt forget it later. A few of the sites I used at first to help me arent up anymore; there are only a few pages about MM1 around. Thanks for those links too, i didnt know about those sites. Hello, I'm a new one, I wanted to ask you how can I get the blueprints in Zmodeler. I divided them in: side, back and front. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/confused3.gif)

Thanks (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)
