Full Version: Midtown - Tuning

Looks like Angel Studios needed to look better on tuning the cars.

Factor 1 - They gave the cars wayyyy too much horsepower (e.g. Mustang GT Horsepower was 400 when it's 220!)
Factor 2 - RPMs too high (e.g. 5200RPM instead of 3800RPM)
Factor 3 - Durability - BAD (MM2 - Crashing into a building at 80mph is like crashing at some 10 - 40mph)
Factor 4 - AI - TOO LIGHT - Those U - MOVE lorries were about 500kg in MM2! Some people weigh more than that (overweight people of course)
Factor 5 - SFPD & LPD - BAD Cops don't even try to damage you out
Factor 6 - AI (Behaviour) BAD - Real traffic wouldn't go around you and go right through a red light (unless they're drunk) Also it's unrealistic. In New Zealand there's about three crashes a day. Cars should crash! Make it more realistic!
Factor 7 - Handling - Average, although your car would tilt to the right or left a bit, you can never go straight in MM blink.gif ohmy.gif huh.gif

Overall - 7.25 out of 10.00

its an old arcade game, get over it

what year model GT? and they might be tuned up a bit

and what do u mean RPMs too high (e.g. 5200RPM instead of 3800RPM)? most cars get up to 8000-9000 RPM's

im pretty sure cars go around u, there no gonna ram right into u.

in a car, the steering is not always straight so if u let go of the wheel, it can go to one side anyway
crazy dude
freak,yer talking about mm2.for mm1:
1.cars have quite equal horsepower.only for cadillac,it has 300 hp,and it should floor out to 140+mph
2.cars weight about 1,5 tons.
3.cpd is very good.they do the P.I.T manevuer
4.AI is good in mm1.

The only car that would probably be in the 6000 - 7000 RPMS would be the GTR-1.

The cars in MM are way old (think 1999 - 2000)

You must be talking about mm2, RIGHT?
EleCtriFieD_fReAK
yeah mm1 isn't that bad besides the graphics.

edit - but still the AI needs a bit of work.

But for a game created in 1999, its excellent. thmbup.gif

Jup, Angel Studios prolly didn't have the coding to make the cars tuning exact.

The Midtown Madness series are still better than any other racing/driving game..altough NFS is good.

MM cannot beat NFS6 and up.
