Midtown Madness Central ended!
I thought of this result long time and now, 7th of May 2006, Midtown Madness Central ends. Midtown Madness Central was probably one of the best Midtown Madness servers with files for all parts of Midtown Madness game.

History of Czech website called Midtown Madness Central started 25th July 2001. By now over 5 years there was an amazing and gigantic website, where you could download new tracks and maps, new cars and new files to all parts of Midtown Madness games. This website was the best page for all Midtown Madness players. Midtown Madness Central was changed for many times and you don't know maybe, that the lest design was the 8th version of Midtown Madness Central. The first version contain only one table with a few files and some new maps for Midtown Madness 2 game. On the present Midtown Madness Central was the one of the biggest websites about Midtown Madness games in the world. These pages contained the most information about all Midtown Madness games, and there were some news from Midtown Madness world each day. You found a lot of new files for each Midtown Madness game, for example new maps and tracks, new cars and add-ons, patches, game tips and tricks, cheats and screenshots from each Midtown Madness game here. You could download all files for free.

At this time Midtown Madness Central ended! You probably ask, why? Why Midtown Madness Central ended?! Right, here is an answer: I have another website (my personal website; only in Czech; www.pavelkubelka.com) and I have no money for paying for hosting of both sites. So this site ends! Another important reason for me is a fact, that Midtown Madness has everything what is possible to make. There are thousands of cars, hundreds of other files such as maps, add-ons, patches and another several modifications.

Midtown Madness Central would like to request HQTM Team to finish their Classic Madness, BrAzuCa™ to finish their Shader mod and Last Madness DVD project, EuropaCar to do lots of another cars and maps as Porsche 911 or Aseda-Spada and the rest of all, who make something really great and really big for Midtown Madness game.

Midtown Madness Central would like to thank to Rippace for his never ending site called Midtown Madness 2 Central, to EuropaCar fo his awesome cars and maps, to all STC Team member for their cars and add-ons for Midtown Madness, to HQTM Team for their really amazing cars and mods, and mainly to Maxoff for his programs for Midtown Madness 2 game. Midtown Madness Central would like to thank to all who made something (small or big) for all or one of the Midtown Madness game. And Midtown Madness Central would like to thank to all visitors and fans of this site called Midtown Madness Central at www.midtownmadness.net. Thank you again!

There will be still Midtown Madness Central Forums available to 31st December 2006. You can post your comments, opinions and question there. Midtown Madness Central Forum is still only for registered users, so if you want to post at forums, you have to register. This site will be available to 31st December 2006, after this date the domain will be free and this site will be down.

Why do seperate hosting for both sites? I have many sites all hosted over one hosting account...

thmbdn.gif Bad excuse to end the site

It's impossible wink.gif

You could switch hosts, awwww... I really don't want this site to close down. Why not use GOogle Adsense to accumlate funds to pay for the hosting?

Hopefully smile.gif I know a good host... www.hostgator.com for $10 US a month you can host unlimited sites under 5GB disk space and 75GB of bandwidth... bandwidth is low, but still...

Here is a quote from the site: http://www.mm2c.com/

"Simple truth is that we are nearing the final chapter of a great book. We have lost our interest in the game a long time ago and with these recent happenings our motivation as well. Besides the personal reasons, there's a financial reason as well. Statistics show that the number of visitors have decreased by 50% in less than a year and we are barely covering our expenses (and the way it's done aint pretty)."

My take on the situation:

I think that if you want to keep something alive, your gonna have to provide quicker updates and new version, keeping it alive, a lot faster than it has been for the Midtown Madness games.

I was looking forward to seeing a Midtown Madness Toronto game. What I see is that in the last 10 years, only 3 version. What gives? Now we know why the interest has faded.

If the programming team would have set their sites on making a game for every major city then this game would have been more popular.

By the way, I prefer to do the free ride rather than racing. Roaming around finding new things all the time is what it is about. And pulling some amazing moves along the way, getting chased by the cops is what it is all about. Rather do it in the game than on the real streets eh!

It too bad that they could not make one game, and just update the cities.
