This new GTA better be "next-gen."
I wonder if it will be like San Andreas, or like Vice City, or GTA3?

People are gonna expect A LOT out of the next GTA.

Since its called GTA4 its needs to be taken to the next level.

So I'm not too sure how big they need to make it, but 3-5 times bigger than San Andreas seems about right.

Anyone thinks there will be a a San Andreas Stories game as well?

I doubt they could fit the whole state of San Andreas on PSP.

I think they could. Think about it.

GTA3, revolutionary when it came out. Several years later, using 1 DVD still, and the same hardware, they make SA. The longer the hardware is out the more they can push it be learning new things.

True but still I heard they had a hard time putting Liberty City on PSP.

So Vice City will be harder, I bet they'll take out some water space.


San Andreas they could not do.


They might just do one city- Like - Los Santos Stories

Los Santos Stories, Las Venturas Stories, San Fierro stories.

Thats 3 new games!

That seems like something RockStar would do just to get more money.

PS3 with 60gb hard drive = $600
PS3 with 20gb hard drive = $500
Xbox360 bundle package = $400
Xbox360 basic package = $300
Wii = $200-250 (not officially announced)

No offence to the Sony fanboys here, but PS3 is seriously lacking. I dont like the XBox, but the 360 is much better.

But yeah, I doubt anyone here will believe me.

The reason why the PS3 is so expensive is because of the Blu-Ray dvd player, and since stand alone blu-ray dvd players retail at more than $500 its not surprising why its so expensive.

Having said that, the PS2 was £299 when lauched here, and the PS3 is gonna be £340. So its not a huge amount more. The americans here are used to getting things cheaper.

What is blu-ray? Is that the beam that the Death Star contained in Star Wars?

Thats what they are doing to make PS3 affordable for ghetto people (Blackmist). Made out of Titanium cardboard (cardboard box with the word "Titanium" written on it with a marker). It will be called PS3: Black Edition.

Anyways Yeah looks like I'm not getting a PS3. Even though I do want to get GTA4.

It means you can fit about 4 times more stuff on the disc, theres this new war between Blu-Ray and HD-DVD which is Toshiba's new dvd format, they are both high definition and people say that Blu-ray will win because of the PS3.

Does anyone even know what city the next GTA will be in?

Here it gets really nerdy:

Zoggy, blue light has a higher frequency than red light, so the width of the laser is thinner, so you can fit more tracks on the same sized disk. As GTA3 God said, it just expands the usable space. Nopthing really new or amazing there.

I wanna know what city it will be it too BM. Maybe the GTA2-style city? It was only top down, but it was so complicated with millions of back streets and you could climb onto the roof of any building and have police chases on foot and stuff. Madness!

There is no freaking way they're going to get away with leaving the price $600. They could probably make over 60% in profits I bet (I don't know that for a fact I'm just saying it's expensive). And yea that was pretty cool in GTA 2, especially the oil spills!

i found out that selling a PS3 at $600 still doesnt give them a profit. they lose money on every machine. idk how much, but a loss is a loss..


the question here is: if they do remake the GTA2 city, would you want that city with a storyline, some added terrain, and in an island/bridge format from one to the other? or would you rather have GTA2, just like it alwauys was, with the respect-o-meter and totally separate citys?

btw, now that i think of it, those GTA2 citys were quite large, im a bit impressed that, for its time, they could load each city in its entirety.

Oh I didn't know that, maybe they could figure out how to make it cheaper to make, but I don't know about that. Well anyway, remember how in Vice City when you went to each city it had to load? (Welcome to Vice City screen) well maybe they could do that for the next one if they want it to be really big.

I really didn't like GTA2 city.


But maybe in 3D it will be gangsta.

i think the next one should be set in modern times and have the welcome screen format and ba able to visit LC, VC, SA, and maybe Carser city?

(Carser City was mentioned multiple times in SA, though not directly to you, the thing i can remember most is an advertizement for the SA airport that says somthing about "fly to Carser City today!")

But remember in GTA3 it said "Fly to Miami" or somethang with miami.

Miami = Vice City

Carser City was also mentioned in GTA3 as well, i think its supposed to be Chicago. Which would be different.

But if the 3d is following the 2d gta then the next one will be London.

So RockStar can do a UK based game but they just need to make it a lot better than The Getaway and since the Getaway sucked ass it wouldn't be that hard to do!

The Getaway seemed to be more about it looking like London and the cars looking exactly right instead of the gameplay.

Those cockney voices were funny though.

I hated the Getaway.

Its one of the few games that I purchased and never finished due to gayness.


I really hope GTA4 does not go overseas. And if it does I hope its some asian place.

i think that, as a sort of test, they should get the hang of the new gen with GTA4 in Carser City in the 70s
once they get comfortable doing that, go all out

I always assumed it was based on Chicago. But it could be anywhere in america i guess.
