San Andreas has only been on the shelves for a few months, but Rockstar aren't wasting any time and it seems they're already planning the next title in the series.

The domains GrandTheftAuto4.com and GTA4.com have been registered by Sam Houser, president of Rockstar Games.

So the title of the game is definitely Grand Theft Auto 4, and the release will likely be October 2006. No further details have been released, although, the MCV Trade paper believe that Rockstar hinted the location of the next title:

QUOTE
Due for next-gen systems, sources close to the project suggest the team is looking beyond the US for the setting of the next title, with Europe a strong contender.

Interesting how they may be calling it GTA4 rather than GTA6 or something.

Hods
I doubt they've started GTA4 cause Sony haven't released the PS3 for companies to work on yet.
BlackMist
I bet they already started with small things.

Like ideas for missions, new weapons, new cars, maybe even a story line??
Hods
Yeah they've probably come with ideas etc. but they wouldn't have started developing it.

I bet they have, as soon as SA shipped. They probably had a story line long before now. It takes tons of time to write a new engine (which is probably the case) map the whole thing, and script all the missions. I would also guess that they have the prototype PS3 to test it on, or at least an emulator. That way they can fix any bugs that happen when they port (right term?) it out to the platforms.
Buscuit
they probibly have everything done that doesnt involve making the software and such
holman
I doubt they would have much done. they do have lives and it still is the christmas holiday's (sort of). they probley taking a break from making GTA:SA but they probley have put together some ideas
Hods
Well they are supposedly working on a GTA game for the PSP
Buscuit
*cough*bad idea*cough*

LW_Weasel
Isn't GTA:SA actually GTA4? Wasn't Vice City the third installment of this series?
holman
no, GTA3 was the third one hence the name. GTA:VC was like an expansion to GTA3 and so was GTA:SA
Hods
GTA3/VC/SA are all basically the same game, just with different storylines and different surroundings.
